Staff Profile
MIE Qld has conducted mental illness awareness programmes in Queensland high schools for nineteen years. We recently introduced a primary school programme. The programmes are supported across Queensland by many volunteers, all of whom have personal experience of mental illness. Each classroom session is conducted by two of our trained volunteers.
It is MIE Qld policy that all volunteers be fully accredited presenters before they are allowed to participate in school classes. MIE Qld has it’s own volunteer training programme involving theory, simulation and supervised experience. Volunteers who meet the high standards of this training are granted accreditation.
